Still think social media is just for the kids? Think again.
A new marketing report from Age of Majority reveals something that might surprise you: More than 60% of adults over 55 are following social media influencers, and many are making real decisions based on what they see.
That means people like you—smart, active adults interested in feeling your best—are already online, already engaged, and already inspired. In fact:
- Over 95% of adults 55+ use social media, with Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram leading the way.
- More than half follow influencers in their own age group.
- And 20% say an influencer directly led them to buy a product or service.
That’s powerful—but it also calls for caution.
There are great voices online offering smart, safe advice. And there are others who might be more interested in tapping your wallet than building trust. Some influencers may sound helpful but push extreme diets, risky workouts, or too-good-to-be-true promises.
So, if you’re following someone and wondering, “Is this legit?” — ask us. We’re here to help you sort out what’s smart, what’s safe, and what actually works for people in their 50s and beyond.
